PIFD Showcases Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal Commends Institute's Role in Fashion Industry

Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, inaugurated the students' thesis display at the Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design (PIFD).
Prof. Iqbal, in his address, not only highlighted the pivotal role of fashion and design in fostering entrepreneurship and supporting the cottage industry but also praised the displayed works as exemplars of creativity, innovation, and skill comparable to international standards. His remark, "Fashion and Design constitute a multi-billion-dollar industry with immense potential for economic growth and job creation," further underscored PIFD's success.
The Minister underscored the importance of equipping the youth with the requisite skills to spearhead innovation in the fashion sector, envisioning Pakistan's emergence as a distinct brand in the global fashion arena. He congratulated the entire administration, faculty, and student body for their dedication and commitment to excellence.
Furthermore, Prof. Iqbal outlined plans to enhance opportunities for girls nationwide by advocating for establishing a hostel and fostering inclusivity and accessibility in education.
Prof. Ms. Hina Tayyaba Khalil, Vice Chancellor of PIFD, highlighted the institute's transformative journey from the Pakistan School of Fashion Design to the esteemed Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design. She emphasized PIFD's mission to produce graduates adept in design, manufacturing, and marketing, poised to meet the demands of the contemporary global market, thereby showcasing the institute's future plans and its impact on the fashion industry.
The Thesis Display, a showcase of graduating students' creative endeavors, encompasses various disciplines, including Textile Design, Leather Accessories, Fashion Marketing, and Gems and Jewellery Design. It is a testament to PIFD's commitment to fostering a new generation of creative designers and skilled entrepreneurs.
