146/25 National Skills University Student Secures International Scholarship to Study in World Top-Ranked University

In a magnificent affirmation of its rise in technology-oriented higher education, the National Skills University Islamabad (NSU) is celebrating a milestone that cements its position as a globally competitive institution that nurtures world-class talent.

Ms. Eisha Zahra, a final-year student from the Department of Civil Engineering Technology, has achieved remarkable success. She is the first-ever NSU student to secure a fully funded international scholarship even before completing her undergraduate degree. Her accomplishment is a personal triumph and a source of pride and inspiration for the entire NSU community and the nation.

Of importance, Eisha has been awarded the prestigious Chinese Government CSC Scholarship to pursue a Master's in Civil Engineering at the globally renowned Zhejiang University, currently ranked 49th in the QS World University Rankings 2025. Her selection is not just a personal triumph. It is a defining moment for a university that began its journey less than a decade ago.

Founded on a vision of skills-driven transformation, NSU Islamabad is the only UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre in Pakistan, and it is already rewriting the narrative of higher education in South Asia. With a mission anchored in employability, innovation, and sustainability, this federal public university produces graduates who are not just job-ready but future-ready graduates.

At the heart of this transformation is Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, the Founding Vice Chancellor, who took the reins in October 2019 when the university was nothing more than a devastated and deteriorated infrastructure. In just a few years, Prof. Mukhtar and a dedicated faculty, led by the visionary Chairperson, Dr. Muhammad Habib, have converted a once-devastated infrastructure into a globally recognized, skills-focused university, attracting national and international accolades.

From the induction of its first undergraduate batch in Fall 2021, NSU has proven its worth in the national and global education landscape. With the Class of 2025 preparing to graduate, several students have already secured employment with prestigious organizations across Pakistan, while others, like Eisha, are setting their sights on elite international academic programs.

"This is not just Eisha's success, it is Pakistan's success," said Prof. Dr. Mukhtar. "We envisioned NSU as a place where education would directly translate into opportunity. Today, we are seeing that vision unfold."

Under the dynamic mentorship of its faculty and Chairperson, Dr. Muhammad Habib, NSU's Department of Civil Engineering Technology has been training students to develop applied, industry-relevant skills.

The selection of Eisha by Zhejiang University, known for its cutting-edge research and technological innovation, underscores NSU's programs' academic rigor and international relevance.

 ٹیکنالوجی پر مبنی اعلیٰ تعلیم کے میدان میں ابھرتے ہوئے ادارے نیشنل اسکلز یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد نے ایک اور سنگ میل عبور  کیا ہے، جو اسے عالمی سطح پر مسابقتی اداروں کی صف میں لے آیا ہے۔

جامعہ کے شعبہ سول انجینئرنگ ٹیکنالوجی کی فائنل ایئر کی طالبہ محترمہ عائشہ زہرہ نے ایک غیر معمولی کامیابی حاصل کی ہے۔ وہ نیشنل اسکلز یونیورسٹی کی پہلی طالبہ بن گئی ہیں جنہوں نے گریجویشن مکمل ہونے سے قبل ہی بین الاقوامی وظیفہ حاصل کیا ہے۔ یہ کامیابی نہ صرف ان کی ذاتی کاوشوں کی عکاس ہے بلکہ پورے ادارے اور ملک کے لیے ایک قابلِ فخر لمحہ ہے۔

عائشہ زہرہ کو حکومت چین کی جانب سے باوقار تعلیمی وظیفہ دیا گیا ہے جس کے تحت وہ دنیا کی 49ویں بہترین یونیورسٹی — زی جیانگ یونیورسٹی — میں ماسٹرز کی تعلیم حاصل کریں گی۔ یہ کامیابی نہ صرف ان کے لیے ایک سنگِ میل ہے بلکہ اُس جامعہ کے لیے بھی جو محض چند سال قبل ایک تباہ حال عمارت پر مشتمل تھی۔

نیشنل اسکلز یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد، پاکستان کا واحد ادارہ ہے جو اقوام متحدہ کے ادارہ برائے فنی و پیشہ ورانہ تعلیم کے ساتھ منسلک ہے، اور جنوبی ایشیا میں اعلیٰ تعلیم کا نیا بیانیہ تشکیل دے رہا ہے۔ اس ادارے کا نصب العین روزگار، جدت اور پائیداری ہے، اور یہ ایسے نوجوان تیار کر رہا ہے جو نہ صرف روزگار کے لیے تیار ہوں بلکہ مستقبل کے چیلنجز سے نمٹنے کی صلاحیت بھی رکھتے ہوں۔

اس انقلابی تبدیلی کے پیچھے ویژنری قیادت جامعہ کے بانی وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد مختار کی  ہے، جنہوں نے اکتوبر 2019 میں اس وقت ادارے کی باگ ڈور سنبھالی جب یہاں صرف خستہ حال عمارتیں تھیں۔ آج انہی کی رہنمائی اور اساتذہ کی انتھک محنت سے نیشنل اسکلز یونیورسٹی ایک عالمی سطح پر پہچانا جانے والا، ہنر پر مبنی تعلیم فراہم کرنے والا ادارہ بن چکا ہے۔

2021 میں پہلی انڈرگریجویٹ کلاس کے آغاز سے اب تک نیشنل اسکلز یونیورسٹی  اسلام  آباد نے اپنی افادیت قومی اور بین الاقوامی سطح پر منوائی ہے۔ کلاس آف 2025 کی تکمیل سے پہلے ہی کئی طلبہ ملک کے ممتاز اداروں میں ملازمت حاصل کر چکے ہیں، جبکہ کچھ  جیسا کہ عائشہ  عالمی جامعات میں داخلہ پا چکے ہیں۔

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد مختار کا کہنا ہے: "یہ صرف عائشہ کی کامیابی نہیں بلکہ پاکستان کی کامیابی ہے۔ ہم نے اس ادارے کو ایک ایسا بنایا ہے جہاں تعلیم براہ راست مواقع پیدا کرے، اور آج وہی خواب حقیقت کا روپ دھار چکا ہے۔

شعبہ سول انجینئرنگ ٹیکنالوجی کے چیئرمین ڈاکٹر محمد حبیب اور ان کی ٹیم کی سرپرستی میں طلبہ کو صنعتوں سے ہم آہنگ عملی مہارتیں فراہم کی جا رہی ہیں، اور زی جیانگ یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے عائشہ کا انتخاب ان پروگرامز کے علمی معیار اور بین الاقوامی مطابقت کی تصدیق ہے۔

عائشہ زہرہ کی یہ شاندار کامیابی نہ صرف ان کی ذاتی محنت کا نتیجہ ہے بلکہ یہ پاکستان کے ان جدید تعلیمی اداروں کی عالمی سطح پر بڑھتی ہوئی شناخت کی عکاس ہے، جو ہنر پر مبنی تعلیم کو فروغ دے رہے ہیں۔ جیسے جیسے عالمی سطح پر تعلیم کا رجحان مہارتوں اور عملی علم کی جانب بڑھ رہا ہے، نیشنل اسکلز یونیورسٹی مستقبل کی ایک کامیاب مثال بن کر ابھر رہی ہے۔
