Bangkok hosted the 9th International Symposium on Science Festival on 16–17 August, with the theme “Empowering Collaboration in Science for Youth in the Belt and Road Network,” A region known for its significant scientific and technological advancements. The event, organised by Thailand’s National Science Museum (NSM), was held on the sidelines of the country’s Science and Technology Fair 2025.

The symposium brought together a diverse group of senior figures from across the region, including BRISEC President and Chinese Academy of Sciences academician Prof Wu, ECOSF President Prof Tayebi, and Dr M. Mustafa of Pakistan’s Khwarizmi Science Society. Dr Ganigar Chen, Vice President of BRISEC and BSM, invited international participants.

Delegates also toured NSM’s network of museums - the Rama IX Museum, IT Museum, Natural History Museum, and the recently opened Futurium, an interactive centre dedicated to science and future learning. Futurium, a project envisioned by Thailand’s king, aims to inspire children and young people through hands-on scientific exploration, sparking excitement and inspiration.

The gathering highlighted the role of international cooperation in nurturing the next generation of scientists across the Belt and Road network.
