The University of Southern Punjab (USP), Multan, has announced admissions for its four-year BS Dental Technology program for Fall 2026, offering aspiring students an opportunity to enter one of the fastest-evolving fields at the intersection of healthcare, technology, design, and biomedical science.
The program, offered through the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, is designed to go beyond conventional dental laboratory training. It integrates advanced dental prosthetics, digital dentistry, biomaterials, orthodontic appliances, maxillofacial prosthetics, CAD/CAM technologies, and modern dental laboratory sciences.
Where Dentistry Meets Technology
Modern dentistry increasingly depends on professionals who can translate clinical prescriptions into precise, sophisticated dental solutions. The USP program is designed to develop students' scientific knowledge, technical precision, digital competence, and creative problem-solving skills.
Over four years, students progress from foundational subjects such as anatomy, physiology, and oral biology to dental materials, radiology, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and removable and fixed prosthodontics, as well as implants and a final capstone experience.
The curriculum is aligned with the requirements outlined in the university's admissions materials and is recognized by the Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) of the Government of Pakistan.
Scholarships and Student Support
USP is also offering NACM scholarships with tuition support based on admission-test performance. Under the announced scheme, students scoring 50 - 65%, 66 - 80%, and 81 - 100% on the test may qualify for 25%, 30%, and 35% tuition scholarships, respectively, subject to the university's scholarship criteria.
A university transportation service is also available for morning and regular programs at a stated fee of Rs. 1,500 per month.
A Career Built for the Future
The launch of BS Dental Technology reflects USP's broader emphasis on programs that integrate professional education with emerging technologies and employable skills. As digital workflows, CAD/CAM, and advanced prosthetics and implant technologies transform dental practice, the field offers graduates opportunities in dental laboratories, hospitals, specialized clinics, digital dental design and manufacturing, and entrepreneurship.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Rector of the University of Southern Punjab, Multan, emphasized the importance of creating modern academic pathways that prepare young people not only for today's professions but also for the technologies and opportunities that will shape tomorrow's healthcare.
“Dental Technology is no longer simply about laboratory work. It is where healthcare, science, digital technology and precision craftsmanship come together. Our goal is to prepare graduates who can innovate, create and lead in this rapidly changing field.”
Admissions Open - Fall 2026
According to the published admission criteria, students with HSSC/A-Levels or equivalent (12 years of schooling) in the Pre-Medical Group with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply.
