Pakistan celebrated His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL), a distinguished global advocate of peace and moderation, who was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to interfaith harmony, peaceful coexistence, and the promotion of the true values of Islam.

 

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training; H.E. Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan; senior government officials; diplomats; and academics. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Wajiha Qamar praised Dr. Al-Issa's global leadership in advancing dialogue, moderation, education, and human dignity, emphasizing that education remains the strongest foundation for building tolerant and inclusive societies.

 

Congratulating Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Rector of the University of Southern Punjab (USP) in Multan, said the honorary doctorate is a well-deserved recognition of a remarkable leader whose lifelong efforts have strengthened interfaith understanding, promoted unity within the Muslim Ummah, and inspired peaceful dialogue across nations and cultures. He noted that Dr. Al-Issa's vision demonstrates how education, mutual respect, and compassion can be powerful instruments for creating a more peaceful and harmonious world.

 

Expressing his gratitude, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa described the honor as both a privilege and a renewed responsibility, reaffirming the Muslim World League's commitment to advancing moderation, interfaith harmony, and cooperation internationally.
