National Skills University Islamabad Faculty Selected for Prestigious STEM Training at King's College London

In a momentous academic achievement, National Skills University Islamabad (NSU) proudly announces the selection of two of its distinguished faculty members, Dr. Maryam Subhani from the Department of General Studies and Ms. Anita Bibi from the Department of Health Sciences Technology for the STEM Faculty Development Program under the PAK-UK Education Gateway. This prestigious initiative, a joint effort by the British Council and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, reflects on the academic excellence and global potential of NSU's faculty.

This fully funded training program, to be conducted at the globally acclaimed King's College London, underscores NSU's growing visibility on the international academic stage and marks a historic first in its collaborative engagement with one of the UK's most prestigious universities.

"This achievement is not just a personal success for our brilliant faculty but a testament to NSU's expanding global academic footprint," said Founding Vice Chancellor of National Skills University Islamabad. "Their selection opens doors to rich collaborations, academic excellence, and exposure to world-class teaching practices." The STEM Faculty Development Program is designed to enhance the teaching methodologies, assessment techniques, and technological integration of faculty members working in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Participants will undergo rigorous, hands-on training facilitated by expert faculty at King's College London.

"Dr. Subhani's participation ensures that cutting-edge pedagogy and global best practices will directly impact our classrooms." The training module will focus on:

Upon completion, the trained faculty will act as Master Trainers, cascading their knowledge and experiences to fellow educators at NSU. This move aligns with the university's long-term vision of capacity building and sustainable academic excellence, which includes regular training and skill development programs for faculty members, as well as a focus on adopting the latest teaching methodologies and technologies. نیشنل سکلز یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد (NSU) کو یہ اعزاز حاصل ہوا ہے کہ اس کی دو معزز فیکلٹی ممبران ڈاکٹر مریم سبحانی (ڈپارٹمنٹ آف جنرل اسٹڈیز) اور محترمہ انیتا بی بی (ڈپارٹمنٹ آف ہیلتھ سائنسز ٹیکنالوجی) — کو PAK-UK ایجوکیشن گیٹ وے کے تحت STEM فیکلٹی ڈویلپمنٹ پروگرام کے لیے منتخب کیا گیا ہے۔

یہ پروگرام برٹش کونسل اور ہائیر ایجوکیشن کمیشن (HEC) پاکستان کی مشترکہ کاوش ہے جو NSU کی تعلیمی قابلیت اور بین الاقوامی سطح پر اس کے فیکلٹی ممبران کی صلاحیتوں کا اعتراف ہے۔

یہ تربیتی پروگرام دنیا کی معروف یونیورسٹی، کنگز کالج لندن میں منعقد ہوگا، جو NSU کی عالمی سطح پر بڑھتی ہوئی شناخت کی عکاسی کرتا ہے اور برطانیہ کی ممتاز یونیورسٹی کے ساتھ اس کی پہلی باقاعدہ علمی شراکت داری کا آغاز ہے۔

STEM فیکلٹی ڈویلپمنٹ پروگرام کا مقصد فیکلٹی ممبران کو جدید تدریسی حکمت عملی، مؤثر اسسمنٹ کے طریقے، اور ٹیکنالوجی کے انضمام کی مہارتیں سکھانا ہے، خاص طور پر بیالوجی، کیمسٹری، فزکس اور ریاضی کے مضامین میں۔

اس موقع پر ڈپارٹمنٹ آف جنرل اسٹڈیز کی سربراہ، ڈاکٹر اہنبر ناہید نے کہا:

"یہ موقع ہماری علمی مشن میں ایک سنگ میل ہے۔ ڈاکٹر سبحانی کی شرکت سے جدید تدریسی نظریات اور عالمی معیار کی مشقیں براہ راست ہمارے کلاس رومز میں شامل ہوں گی۔"

اسی جذبے کے تحت، ڈپارٹمنٹ آف ہیلتھ سائنسز ٹیکنالوجی کے سربراہ، ڈاکٹر محمد عارف ندیم ثاقب نے کہا:

"محترمہ انیتا بی بی کا انتخاب ان کی لگن کا مظہر اور ہمارے شعبہ کی بین الاقوامی تعاون و جدید تعلیم پر توجہ کا ثبوت ہے۔ ہمیں ان پر فخر ہے۔"

تربیتی ماڈیول کے اہم  موضوعات:

• STEM  تعلیم میں جدید تدریسی حکمت عملیاں
• مؤثر تدریس کے لیے جدید ٹولز اور ٹیکنالوجیز
• عالمی معیار کے مطابق اسسمنٹ و ایویلیوایشن تکنیک
• برطانیہ کے نمایاں تعلیمی اداروں کے مطالعاتی دورے

تربیت مکمل کرنے کے بعد، منتخب فیکلٹی ممبران ماسٹر ٹرینرز کے طور پر دیگر اساتذہ کو بھی یہ علم منتقل کریں گی، جو NSU کی طویل المدتی وژن کا حصہ ہے۔ اس وژن میں فیکلٹی کی مسلسل تربیت، جدید تدریسی طریقوں کا نفاذ، اور ٹیکنالوجی کا جامع استعمال شامل ہے۔

یہ کامیابی ایسے وقت میں حاصل ہوئی ہے جب STEM تعلیم کو عالمی سطح پر سماجی و اقتصادی ترقی کا محرک تسلیم کیا جا رہا ہے۔ یہ NSU کی اس وابستگی کا عکاس ہے کہ وہ اپنے اساتذہ — خصوصاً خواتین — کو عالمی سطح کے رہنما بنانے میں پرعزم ہے۔

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مختار نے اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا:
