In a highly graceful ceremony commemorating Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day and the solemn Marka-e-Haq, State Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Ms. Wajiha Qamar presided over events at the National Skills University (NSU) in Islamabad yesterday. The gathering, held within the university’s Al-Mukhtar Auditorium, was a vibrant blend of patriotism, pride, and promise. She was received by the Founding Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, and senior university officials.
In full national regalia and enthusiastic with youthful energy, NSU students performed heartfelt patriotic pieces that moved the minister. In a flag-raising ceremony with reverence and hope, students' performances were met with hearty applause and a sense of shared purpose.
The State Minister also participated in the Marka e Haq walk in solidarity with our forces and their sacrifices for defending our national and intellectual boundaries, besides their role in challenging times in the country.
“An independent, free Pakistan is the prosperous land with defined boundaries in which we live, survive, and flourish,” Ms. Qamar remarked, reflecting on the essence of the 78 years since independence. She said the day’s dual significance, honoring the nation’s birth and affirming its values, calls on all citizens to unite behind the country’s defense and future. Her words echoed a powerful call for unity, instilling in the audience a sense of belonging and national pride. “This Independence Day isn’t just a date,” she declared, “it demands that we pour every ounce of our energy into building Pakistan into the strongest and most prosperous nation on Earth.”
Her message resonated with optimism. She expressed the belief that education and youth empowerment are the twin pillars of national strength. Her remarks about the potential of the youth filled the audience with hope and optimism for the future.
