The capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad, is set to host the International Conference on Girls' Education in Muslim Communities: Challenges and Opportunities. This historic two-day event, organized by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, will take place from January 11 to 12, 2025. It promises to bring transformative change to a world filled with technological advancements and women's roles in developing national prosperity.
The conference will bring together over 150 international dignitaries, ministers, and thought leaders from 44 countries, representing a diverse range of perspectives and experiences. It is a rallying call for action. With representatives from UNESCO, UNICEF, the World Bank, and scholars from around the globe, the summit embodies a collective commitment to gender equity and educational reform.
Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif's keynote address will underscore Pakistan's dedication to advancing girls' education and serve as a reminder of the critical role education plays in fostering equitable and sustainable development.
Among the many contributors to this event is the National Skills University Islamabad (NSU), whose involvement exemplifies the institution's growing stature in championing skills-based education and global engagement. The university's officers, including Zufishan Anjum, Assistant Director (Admin & Coordination), and Mr. Hamza Rasheed, Assistant Registrar, have been entrusted as part of the welcoming team for international delegates. This participation reflects not only the confidence of the Ministry of Federal Education in NSU's capabilities but also the potential of its young professionals to gain invaluable experience in diplomacy and cross-cultural collaboration.
The founding Vice Chancellor of NSU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, acknowledged this honor with deep gratitude, emphasizing the importance of such engagements in building young officers' morale and professional attitude. He commended the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and the tireless Secretary, Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, for orchestrating this significant event.
