80/25 The University of Southern Punjab (USP) Steps Forward on the Global Stage - GETEX2025
Posted 2 months ago
As the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) 2025 opens today in Dubai, higher education institutions from across the globe are gathering to present their offerings to a generation of students aspiring to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world. Among the names joining this distinguished assembly is the University of Southern Punjab, Multan, a rising star in Pakistan’s academic landscape, ready to take its place on the international stage.
In a region with many private-sector universities and distinctions between them often blurred, the University of Southern Punjab (USP) stands out not just for what it promises but for what it is steadily delivering. Unlike many of its counterparts, USP is not content with the superficial markers of academic credibility. Instead, it is quietly building a reputation on the back of academic rigor, innovation-driven leadership, and a deliberate focus on producing both employable and globally competent graduates. USP's unique selling points include its strong emphasis on practical skills, its commitment to innovation, and its global outlook.
GETEX 2025 could not come at a more defining moment. With geopolitical shifts reshaping global student flows and traditional destinations like the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia tightening their borders, Dubai is rapidly emerging as a higher education hub, and exhibitions like GETEX are its calling card. In this context, USP’s presence in Dubai is more than just symbolic. It is a confident declaration that the university has earned its seat at the table of international academia, a presence that should make us all proud and reassured of USP's growing international reputation.
Several private universities from Pakistan, such as Superior University Lahore, Rashid Latif University Lahore, Peshawar City University, Peshawar Gandhara University, Gift University, Gujranwala, University of Sialkot, Preston University Islamabad, The University of Faisalabad, The University of Lahore, and Tando Mohammad Khan University of Modern Sciences, are participating under the umbrella of the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP).
The credit for this ascendancy goes not only to the dedicated faculty and leadership team but also to a governing body that has remained focused on the quality of education and producing graduates having knowledge, civic science, and also equipped with knowledge domain-specific and social skills. The chairman of the Board of Governors, in particular, has demonstrated that vision, governance, and a refusal to compromise on academic integrity are truly defining features moving institutions forward.
While GETEX 2025 showcases interactive artificial intelligence and robotics workshops and presents students with over 900 academic programs from globally reputed institutions, USP brings something equally compelling: the story of a young university from Multan going global. From engineering to management sciences, information technology to applied disciplines aligned with Pakistan’s developmental goals, USP is not just filling seats but preparing future thinkers and doers, a unique offering that is sure to excite and interest the audience.
Its growing national and international footprint is proof. USP alums are increasingly visible in sectors ranging from finance to tech in Pakistan and abroad.
In a world where education is both a personal investment and a societal imperative, institutions like the University of Southern Punjab quietly reshape what it means to be an emerging university.
