Students Week at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur Mirs, showcased an impressive array of academic, technological, and entrepreneurial talent. Highlights included the Photography Exhibition 2025, Software Expo 2025, Entrepreneurship Mela 2025, and stimulating panel discussions, including academic seminars. The event attracted students and faculty from Chandka University, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, and Aror University, reinforcing SALU's role as a hub for intellectual and creative exchange.
A Grand Inauguration: Leaders and Experts Unite
The ceremonies were inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Meritorious Professor Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Khushk, a momentous occasion that saw the convergence of distinguished academicians, business leaders, and media representatives. Among them were Prof. Dr. Dur Muhammad Pathan (PVC MUET Campus Khairpur), Zaheer Ud-Din Ghumro (Regional Business Manager, EFU Sukkur, and Larkana Zone), Dr. Agha Samiullah (Chairman, Sukkur Social Society), Aamir Abbas Mangi (Regional Manager, SRSO Sukkur), and Prof. Shah Muhammad Luhrani (Founder, IBA Sukkur), among many others, representing a diverse range of expertise and perspectives.
Photography Exhibition: A Lens into Social and Environmental Realities
The Photography Exhibition, organized by the Media Studies Department, served as a powerful platform for students to capture and highlight pressing social and environmental concerns. Vice Chancellor Dr. Khushk lauded the students' ability to depict powerful narratives through their work, emphasizing how their images of impoverished communities and underdeveloped rural landscapes can influence public policy and awareness, underscoring the significant impact of their work.
Software Expo: Showcasing Cutting-Edge Technology
The Software Expo 2025, hosted by the Institute of Computer Science under the leadership of Director Prof. Dr. Jawaid Maher, was a unique opportunity for students to showcase their proficiency in emerging technologies. The event not only allowed them to interact with industry professionals but also provided valuable insights into market trends and opportunities for innovation, making it a highly enriching experience for all participants.
Entrepreneurship Mela: Nurturing Business Leaders
Led by Prof. Dr. Minhoo Khan Laghari, Director of the Institute of Business Administration, the Entrepreneurship Mela brought together students, entrepreneurs, corporate professionals, and academicians in an inspiring showcase of innovation. Multiple universities and renowned organizations like Suzuki and Vision for Education participated. The event featured 35 stalls where students displayed their entrepreneurial ventures.
Academic Seminars and Panel Discussions: Enriching Knowledge and Dialogue
A series of intellectually stimulating sessions added depth to the event, including:
- The seminar on "Islamic Banking & Financial Inclusion," hosted by the Department of Economics, featured an expert lecture by Mr. Samiullah Siddiqui (Regional General Manager, Samba Bank), who delved into the role of Islamic banking in fostering economic stability and financial accessibility.
- A Panel Discussion on "Human History and Indus Civilization," organized by the Department of Pakistan Studies and moderated by Dr. Inayet Bhatti, explored the Indus Civilization's historical, linguistic, and economic dimensions.
