Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif Declares Education Emergency Across Pakistan

In a very determined move to address Pakistan's education crisis, Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif declared an 'Education Emergency' nationwide. The declaration, made during the National Conference on Education Emergency, underscores a comprehensive effort to enroll approximately 26 million out-of-school children and elevate literacy rates nationwide.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif emphasized the urgency of the initiative, asserting, "I declare from this moment an Emergency in Education all over Pakistan." He outlined near-future efforts to reintegrate out-of-school children into the education system, drawing inspiration from successful models implemented during his tenure in Punjab.
Addressing a diverse audience that included federal ministers, parliamentarians, vice-chancellors, diplomats, and development partners, Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif expressed his commitment to overseeing the program and fostering collaboration with provincial leaders regardless of political affiliations.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of the National Skills University Islamabad, says it is a timely initiative.
The Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, has reiterated implementing Educational Emergency at Several Occasions. Today, in his speech, he introduced his eagerness to move forward with this initiative.
Mr. Mohyuddin A Wani, the Federal Secretary for Education and Professional Training, is recognized as a champion of implementing market-oriented short skills training. His leadership will be crucial in steering the Prime Minister's initiative.
