NSU Professor Completes China New Energy Vehicle Training Course

Dr. Irfan Ahmad Gondal, the Mechanical Engineering Department Chairperson at National Skills University Islamabad (NSU), completed the "China New Energy Vehicle Technology International Training Course." This course, held in Beijing, China, from April 15th to April 29th, 2024, was jointly organized by the ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF) in collaboration with the China New Energy Vehicle Innovation Centre (NEVC).
The intensive training program attracted participants from several countries, including Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Australia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Dr. Gondal engaged in knowledge-sharing sessions led by technologists from Chinese universities and electric vehicle (EV) industry experts. The course curriculum covered a wide range of topics related to new energy vehicle technologies, offering valuable insights into the latest advancements in the EV field.
One of the most enriching aspects of the training was the opportunity for the participants to visit renowned EV brands in China, such as Great Wall Motors (GWM), BYD, and Geely. These visits offered participants a firsthand experience of cutting-edge EV manufacturing processes and technologies, significantly enhancing their understanding of industry best practices and equipping them with practical knowledge.
Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice-Chancellor of NSU, congratulated Dr. Gondal on this achievement, emphasizing the importance of such endeavours in advancing the university's mission to contribute to Pakistan's emerging EV sector. Dr. Mukhtar highlighted the significance of capacity-building initiatives like this training course in equipping NSUs with the skills and expertise necessary to meet the industry's evolving demands. He also mentioned that the knowledge gained from this course will be instrumental in driving the EV training courses at the NSU.
