From a Deserted Place to a Blooming Hub of Skills - Founding Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Welcomes NSU’s New Students

On the occasion of Orientation Day for the newly admitted students at the National Skills University Islamabad (NSU) for the 2026–2027 academic session, Founding Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the new generation embarking on their academic and professional journey at the country’s pioneering skills-focused university.

Prof. Dr. Mukhtar congratulated Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saud Altaf, senior faculty members, administrative officers, and the entire NSU team on completing admissions for the new academic session. He expressed his hope that incoming students would make full use of the university’s unique learning environment and prepare themselves with the knowledge, technologies, and practical skills required for the rapidly changing world of work.

Prof. Mukhtar, in his prayers, says, “I congratulate our new students on becoming part of the National Skills University Islamabad. May your journey here be filled with learning, discovery, character building and success. My prayers and best wishes are with all those who are currently studying at NSU.”

Reflecting on the university’s remarkable journey, Prof. Dr. Mukhtar recalled the early days when he joined NSU as its Founding Vice Chancellor and first employee. At that time, he said, the university was deserted. “What we see today is the result of a remarkable journey of vision, commitment and collective effort,” he observed. “From a deserted place, NSU has emerged as an internationally renowned center where young people are being trained in modern technologies, technical education and contemporary skills.”

He particularly highlighted NSU’s unique recognition as a UNESCO-UNEVOC Center, underscoring the university’s growing international role in technical and vocational education and training. The transformation, he noted, is not merely the construction of buildings and laboratories but the creation of an ecosystem dedicated to equipping young people with relevant skills for the future.

Prof. Dr. Mukhtar also paid tribute to the entire pioneering team of NSU faculty members, administrators, engineers, technicians, support staff, and other colleagues whose dedication during the formative years laid the foundation for the institution that exists today. “The NSU we see today did not emerge overnight. It was built through the hard work, sacrifices, and commitment of many colleagues during its early years. I deeply appreciate, admire, and acknowledge every member of that founding and pioneering team,” he said.

Prof. Mukhtar described the transformation as a journey “from desert into bloom,” from a place once largely empty to one now brimming with the energy, aspirations, and dreams of young Pakistanis pursuing world-class technological and vocational skills. He expressed confidence that the new students in the 2026–2027 session would become part of this ongoing story and contribute to the university’s future growth and international standing.

“The real strength of NSU are its youth. Every student entering this university carries a dream, and every skill acquired here can become a source of dignity, employment, innovation, and national development.

Prof. Dr. Mukhtar concluded by wishing Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saud Altaf and his team continued success in taking NSU to new heights, and by praying for academic success, prosperity, and bright futures for all NSU students. From a deserted landscape to a flourishing hub of youth, technology, and skills, NSU's journey reminds us that visionary leadership, teamwork, and perseverance can transform a dream into an institution of national and international significance.

بانی وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد مختار کی نئے طلبہ کو مبارک باد

نیشنل  سکلز  یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد میں نئے تعلیمی سفر کا آغاز کرنے والے طلبہ کے تعارفی دن کے موقع پر یونیورسٹی کے بانی وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد مختار نے طلبہ کو مبارک باد دیتے ہوئے ان کے روشن مستقبل کے لیے نیک تمناؤں کا اظہار کیا ہے۔

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد مختار نے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سعود الطاف، سینئر اساتذہ، انتظامی افسران اور یونیورسٹی کی پوری ٹیم کو نئے تعلیمی سال کے داخلوں کا عمل کامیابی سے مکمل کرنے پر مبارک باد دی۔

انہوں نے نئے طلبہ سے کہا کہ وہ یونیورسٹی میں دستیاب تعلیمی اور عملی مواقع سے بھرپور فائدہ اٹھائیں اور ایسی مہارتیں حاصل کریں جو تیزی سے بدلتی ہوئی دنیا میں روزگار اور پیشہ ورانہ کامیابی کے لیے ضروری ہیں۔

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد مختار نے کہا:

قومی مہارت یونیورسٹی کا حصہ بننے پر میں اپنے تمام نئے طلبہ کو مبارک باد پیش کرتا ہوں۔ اللہ تعالیٰ آپ کے سفر کو علم، جستجو، کردار سازی اور کامیابی سے بھر دے۔ میری دعائیں اور نیک تمنائیں ان تمام طلبہ کے ساتھ ہیں جو اس وقت یہاں زیر تعلیم ہیں۔

یونیورسٹی کے ابتدائی دنوں کو یاد کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے بتایا کہ جب وہ بانی وائس چانسلر کی حیثیت سے یہاں آئے تو یہ جگہ تقریباً ویران تھی اور وہ ادارے کے پہلے ملازم تھے۔

ان کے مطابق آج قومی مہارت یونیورسٹی جس مقام پر کھڑی ہے، وہ وژن، محنت، عزم اور اجتماعی کوشش کا نتیجہ ہے۔

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مختار نے جامعہ کو اقوام متحدہ کے ادارہ برائے تعلیم، سائنس و ثقافت کے فنی و پیشہ ورانہ تعلیم و تربیت کے عالمی مراکز میں شامل کیے جانے کو بھی اہم کامیابی قرار دیا۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ یونیورسٹی کی ترقی صرف عمارتوں اور تجربہ گاہوں کی تعمیر کا نام نہیں، بلکہ ایک ایسے تعلیمی ماحول کی تشکیل ہے جہاں نوجوان مستقبل کی ضروریات کے مطابق مہارتیں حاصل کر سکیں۔

انہوں نے یونیورسٹی کی ابتدائی ٹیم کے اساتذہ، منتظمین، ٹیکنالوجسٹس، فنی ماہرین اور معاون عملے کو خراجِ تحسین پیش کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ موجودہ نیشنل  سکلز  یونیورسٹی ان تمام افراد کی محنت اور قربانیوں کا نتیجہ ہے جنہوں نے اس ادارے کی بنیاد رکھنے میں کردار ادا کیا۔

انہوں نے کہا، قومی مہارت یونیورسٹی ایک دن میں وجود میں نہیں آئی۔ اسے بہت سے ساتھیوں کی محنت، قربانی اور عزم نے تشکیل دیا ہے۔ میں بانی اور اولین ٹیم کے ہر رکن کی خدمات کو قدر کی نگاہ سے دیکھتا ہوں۔

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد مختار نے یونیورسٹی کے سفر کو صحرا سے گلستان تک کا سفر قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ جہاں کبھی ویرانی تھی، وہاں آج پاکستان کے نوجوانوں کی توانائی، خواب اور امنگیں نظر آتی ہیں۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ قومی مہارت یونیورسٹی کی اصل طاقت اس کے نوجوان ہیں۔ یہاں آنے والا ہر طالب علم اپنے ساتھ ایک خواب لاتا ہے، جبکہ یہاں حاصل کی جانے والی ہر مہارت عزت، روزگار، جدت اور قومی ترقی کا ذریعہ بن سکتی ہے۔

انہوں نے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سعود الطاف اور ان کی ٹیم کے لیے نیک خواہشات کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے امید ظاہر کی کہ یونیورسٹی آنے والے برسوں میں مزید ترقی کرے گی اور عالمی سطح پر اپنی شناخت کو مضبوط بنائے گی۔

نیشنل  سکلز یونیورسٹی  اسلام  آباد کا ویرانی سے ایک فعال تعلیمی اور فنی مرکز تک کا سفر اس امر کی مثال ہے کہ دور اندیش قیادت، اجتماعی محنت اور ثابت قدمی ایک خواب کو ایک اہم قومی ادارے میں تبدیل کر سکتی ہے۔
