Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, attended the concluding session of the Nestlé Capacity Building Initiative at the National Institute of Special Education (NISE) in Islamabad, underscoring the government's resolve to invest in human capital and evidence-based practices for people with disabilities.

Held under the Summer Break Capacity Building Program 2026, the two-day initiative was organized in collaboration with Nestlé Pakistan and brought together 65 special education professionals and support staff from across the country. The program focused on practical, research-informed, and locally adaptable nutrition strategies to improve the health, rehabilitation, and educational outcomes for individuals with diverse disabilities.

The training featured interactive learning modules on disability-responsive nutrition, including the engaging "My Plate" activity, along with practical approaches participants can apply in both institutional and community settings. Successful participants received certificates in recognition of their commitment to professional development.

Addressing the gathering, Federal Secretary Nadeem Mahbub emphasized that the future of special education depends not only on knowledge but also on professional ethics, lifelong learning, and the effective application of evidence-based practices. He encouraged educators and support professionals to translate their newly acquired skills into meaningful improvements in education, rehabilitation, and care for people with disabilities.

Commending Nestlé Pakistan for its continued contributions to professional capacity building, the Federal Secretary reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to fostering strategic public-private partnerships that strengthen Pakistan's special education sector. He noted that sustained collaboration between government institutions and responsible corporate partners is essential to developing a skilled workforce capable of delivering inclusive, high-quality services.

The initiative reflects Pakistan's growing emphasis on empowering special education professionals through practical training and cross-sector collaboration, reinforcing a shared vision of building a more inclusive society where every individual can thrive.
