It would be best to get it back at any cost to run your institutions to avoid an uncontrollable chaotic situation. According to the Editor in Chief of the HunarNama, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, almost every higher education institution would have to devise a strategy for staying safe from Ransomware; otherwise, who knows when your turn for the ransomware attack is!!!

Further elaborating on the Ransomware, the HunarNama Editor in Chief elaborates that the concept is so simple, i.e., A hacker or attacker uses certain malware that allows them to get control of your essential files. Upon acquiring this control, the hackers demand money for getting files restored. So far, most cybercriminals using Ransomware have utilized money transactions in the form of Bitcoin.

The Editor in Chief of the HunarNama has lamented such practice and asked for several punishments for such cybercriminals. Moreover, he has advised all universities to have a suitable cybersecurity protocol to counteract Ransomware attacks. Moreover, important in local storage devices is the other option every university should practice.
