Rapid advances in Artificial Intelligence, advanced robotics, biotechnology, quantum technologies, extended reality, the Internet of Things, sustainable technologies, and human-centered innovation are fundamentally transforming economies, industries, workplaces, and societies worldwide. Industrial Revolution 5.0 marks a paradigm shift from technology-driven production to human-centric, resilient, sustainable, and inclusive development.

 

Recognizing these emerging challenges and opportunities, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has established a national Task Force comprising eminent academics, industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and curriculum experts to develop a comprehensive roadmap to transform Pakistan's higher education system.

 

The Task Force shall recommend evidence-based reforms that align higher education degree programs with future workforce requirements, national priorities, global educational standards, technological advancements, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Task Force shall:
